Paralakhemundi ACF Death: CB Grills Deceased Officer's Wife For Over 6 Hours

The Crime Branch on Thursday interrogated Bidyabharati, wife of Paralakhemudi ACF Soumya Ranjan who died under mysterious circumstances, for more than six hours.

According to sources, the investigating team reportedly asked 70 questions during the six and half hour long marathon grilling.

"She (Bidyabharati) will be questioned tomorrow if required," says CB DSP Iman Kalyani.

The Crime Branch team also questioned Bidyabharati's parents today, sources informed.

Chief Of Manababad Sangathan Manas Das Arrested, IG Reviews Situation 

Manas Das, the chief of ‘Manababad Sangathan', who was picked up by Khordha police earlier in the day, has been put under formal arrest. Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Narasingha Bhol reached Khordha following Das’ arrest to review the law and order situation in the area. Das is likely to be produced in a court for remand. A special team from Khordha police, led by the SDPO, had picked up Das from his residence in Bhubaneswar. Das is facing allegations ranging from murder, attempt to murder and  several other serious crimes. Even on Thursday morning Subhasish Behera, a resident of Jhinkijhari village in Tapang area of Khordha lodged a complaint alleging threat to his and his family members’ lives from the self-styled chief of Manababadi Sangathan. The complainant also sought protection from police.
