Former Home Guard DSP Srikanta Mishra Convicted In DA Case 

A special vigilance court in Cuttack on Wednesday sentenced a former DSP to two years' rigorous imprisonment after convicting him in a disproportionate assets case. Srikanta Kumar Mishra, former DSP of Home Guard in Sambalpur, was found in possession of disproportionate assets worth over Rs 19 lakh. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict. Mishra will have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a further period of 6 months in case of default in payment of the fine.

Master Plan For Harishankar, Nrusinghnath Temples Development

The Odisha government has decided to roll out an integrated development plan to upgrade the twin temples of Harishankar-Nrusinghanath in Bolangir district in order to attract more devotees and tourists. As per the plan, roads, parking, vending zone, religious street, cultural plaza, visitor facilities, public park, picnic zone, along with other facilities of the shrines will be developed. The project works will be completed by December 2022.

Assault By ‘Humanitarian Organisation’: 3 Arrested Accused Taken On Remand

Maoists Kill Village Guard In Odisha's Rayagada On Suspicion Of Being Police Informer

Maoists on Tuesday late night killed a village guard suspecting him to be a police informer at Tikarpada village under Ambadala police limits in Rayagada district. The deceased has been identified as Santosh Dandasena.

According to reports, more than 10 armed red rebels reached the village and forcibly took him out of his house. Later, they shot him on the road and fled the spot.

The Maoists also left two handwritten notes at the spot, in which the extremists claimed that as Dandasena was working as a police informer, they killed him.

Local police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and recovered the body. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, added reports.
