Vigilance Arrests Bhadrak CDPO Office Supervisor, Husband On DA Charges

The Vigilance sleuths on Sunday arrested the Supervisor of Child Development Project Office (CDPO) in Bhadrak,  Mallilata Das, and her husband on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to their known sources of income. 

According to sources, four teams of the State anti-corruption wing had raided the properties associated with Das on August 24 and unearthed properties worth Rs 2.63 under her name

The Vigilance sleuths also laid their hands on some important documents during searches carried out at these premises.

Former College Principal Hacked To Death In Cuttack

The former Principal of Kandarpur college in Cuttack was allegedly hacked to death by some unknown miscreants on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sidheswar Mohapatra.

According to sources, Mohapatra sustained critical injuries in the attack and was immediately rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital where doctor declared him dead on arrival.

The exact reason behind the attack is unknown. Moreover, the identity of the assailants is still to be known.

The police have started an investigation into the matter.
