India Grants Permission For Restart Of 737Max Operations

India on Thursday granted safety permission for restart of Boeing 737Max operations in the country.

Aviation regulator DGCA granted the safety permission to operators of Boeing 737Max to restart operations.

"This rescission enables operation of Boeing Company Model 737-8 and Boeing Company Model 737-9 airplanes only upon satisfaction of applicable requirements for return to service," the DGCA said in its order.

Uma Sankar Mishra, a senior IPS officer from Odisha and former CBI Director passed away at a private hospital in New Delhi.

The 1968-batch IPS officer was appointed as CBI director in 2003. Mishra was ill and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi.

He was the sole IPS office from Odisha to have been appointed as the CBI director. Apart from his stint as a CBI director, Mishra also held several important posts in his long and illustrious career.

Huge Haul Of Ganja Seized In Koraput; 6 Including Home Guard Detained

Police on Thursday seized a huge quantity of ganja from Ambaguda and Koraput-Jeypore ghat in Koraput district and detained six persons including a home guard for their alleged involvement in the smuggling of the contraband.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Sadar Police led by Jeypore SDPO raided the area and seized the ganja. The exact quantity of ganja seized is yet to be known.
