Two Siblings Drown In Pond In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

In a tragic incident, two children of a family drowned in a pond at the backyard of their house at Uleikundi village under Raruan police limits in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Raj Munda (3) and his sister Sambari (2).

According to sources, the mishap took place when the duo was playing in the backyard of their house. The two siblings slipped into a pond which resulted in their death.

Timber, Saw Mill Accessories Worth Rs 10 Lakh Seized In Cuttack

The Odisha Vigilance department seized timber and other articles worth Rs 10 lakh following a raid at an illegal saw mill at Pahanga under Niali Police limits in Cuttack district on Thursday.

The raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of the Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack Vigilance Division with the assistance of local forest staff of City Forest Division, Bhubaneswar.

The saw mill was operating in violation of Section 4 of the Saw Mill Sawpit (Control) Act, 1991. While the owner of the saw mill is absconding, a case has been registered by City Forest Division, Bhubaneswar under Phul Nakhara Range.
