The famous Tarini Temple at Ghatagaon in Keonjhar district will be thrown open for devotees from Tuesday with all Covid-19 restrictions in place. Not more than 50 devotees will be allowed to enter the temple premises at a time and the use of masks will be made mandatory during darshan.
The devotees will be allowed to have darshan in two phases- from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 4 pm to 7 pm. However, the offering of prasad and diyas will not be allowed at the shrine.
Along with Tarini temple, all religious institutions will open in the district from tomorrow.

As many as 4000 computer teachers on Monday staged a demonstration in front of Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) office in Bhubaneswar protesting against their disengagement from service. The protestors raised slogans and attempted to barge into the office premises of OSEPA. The angry teachers alleged that the government is not paying heed to their demands despite repeated pleas and threatened mass suicide.
Meanwhile, the police picked up the protestors citing Covid restrictions. “As per the government guidelines, congregation is prohibited. They violated Covid-19 restrictions. Besides, some of the protestors were carrying phenyl and kerosene with them,” DCP Umashankar Dash said. “Two to three persons have also thrown kerosene. An inspector of Capital police station was injured while preventing them from taking any extreme step. Keeping in views these violations, action as per law will be taken against them,” he added.
As many as seven persons including the Additional Collector of Boudh NC Jyotishankar Nayak were injured as two cars collided head-on at Ranganatia square under Daspalla police station in Nayagarh district on Monday.
The injured have been admitted to Nayagarh Medical in critical conditions. Nayak's car was on its way to Boudh from Bhubaneswar when it met with the accident.
Jatra artistes and gym owners across Odisha staged protests at the Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar on Monday demanding relaxation of restrictions imposed on their shows and gymnasiums due to the ongoing second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. The protestors hit the streets by shouting slogans and urging the State government to give their livelihood back.
"Though running of jatra shows and reopening of gyms have been allowed in the August guidelines, it is impossible to run them without further relaxation of restrictions," said a protestor.

Odisha confirmed 66 new Covid-19 death cases on Monday taking the death toll to 6501. Khordha district witnessed the highest number of 29 deaths followed by Cuttack (13), Sambalpur (8), Bargarh (7) and Bolangir (3).
The number of cases dipped further as the State reported 886 cases and with this the total number of deaths mounted to 9,87, 956. The active cases stand at 11,486. As many as 9,69,916 patients have recovered from the infection so far with the addition of 1,463 on Monday.
