The famous Bhitarkanika National Park has reopened for tourists from today after remaining off the limits to the public for around three months for the mating and nesting season of saltwater crocodiles. Gupti, Dangamal and Hukitola areas in the national park have been opened for the tourists.
The Forest department had closed down the National Park on May 1 and originally it was scheduled to reopen on July 31. But later, the park's closure period was extended till August 8 due to Odisha government Covid guidelines.

However, there are some restrictions on entry to the national park.
