Utilisation Certificates Worth Rs 10K Crore Pending In Odisha Higher Edu Dept 

Utilisation certificates for more than Rs 1000 crore pertaining to various schemes of Higher Education Department ranging from 2003-04 till 2020-21 are pending. It was learnt from an official letter issued by the department on Tuesday. In the letter, Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra termed it 'very alarming' and directed all branch officers of higher education department, registrars of all State Public Universities, principals of government and non-government colleges, Finance Officer, OSHEC to ensure submission of Utilisation Certificates to F.A.-cum-Additional Secretary, Higher Education Department in the prescribed format. In case of failure, financial concurrence for sanction of further grants shall not be accorded by the F.A.-cum-Additional Secretary.

Army Jawan Found Dead Under Suspicious Circumstances In Jajpur

An Army Jawan was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Rayadharapura-Bandhadiha road under Dharmasala block in Jajpur district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Jenasamanta of Janaka village. He had come to his village three days earlier. However, he went missing on Monday evening and later his body was found today. His father has filed a complaint in the nearby police station alleging that his son has been murdered. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
