Body Found Buried In Sand On Bhubaneswar Outskirts

An unidentified body was found partially-buried in sand on the bank of river Kuakhai on Wednesday. The body was found near Barimunda Chhak under Mancheswar police limits. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained. The police launched a probe in the matter.

Odisha Confirms 69 New Covid-19 Deaths, Cases Continue To Dip

Odisha confirmed 69 new fatalities due to Covid-19 on Wednesday with the death toll reaching 5,241. The maximum number of 22 fatalities was reported from Khordha district followed by Sundargarh (10). The Covid positive tally in Odisha also rose to 9,59,986 after as many as 1,927 people tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. The active cases in the State reached 19,685 while 9,35,007 patients have recovered so far, including 2,341 on Tuesday.

Of the fresh Covid-19 cases reported from 30 districts, 1,115 are from quarantine centres, while the rest 812 are local contact cases, the data revealed by the I&PR Department stated. Khordha district reported the highest 498 cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack (248), The State has so far tested over 1,52,06,338 samples for Covid-19, including 70, 476 in the last 24 hours.
