Woman, 3-Yr-Old Son Found Dead In Nayagarh

A woman and her 3-year-old son were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their house at Sankhei village under Itamati police limits in Nayagarh district on Monday. The bodies of Mili Sahu and her toddler son were found on a bed in her matrimonial home today morning. A saree was found hanging to the ceiling fan near the bodies. Though the exact cause of death of the mother-son duo is yet to be known, a police team visited the house and launched a probe into the case. Meanwhile, the deceased family alleged that she had been tortured mentally and physically by her in-laws. "My son-in-law's sisters used to beat up my daughter regularly. They used to abuse her for belonging to a poor family," alleged the bereaved mother. The reactions of deceased's in-laws could not be obtained over the allegations.  “The woman had married three years back. Her husband was not present at the house when the incident took place. We cannot say much at this stage. The post-mortem report will establish the exact cause of death of the woman and her son,” Itamati inspector-in-charge Basant Sahu said.

Covid-19: New Containment Zone Declared In Bhubaneswar; Check BMC Notification

The authorities of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday declared a portion of an apartment at Ganganagar under ward no 52 as a containment zone following detection of several cases of Covid-19.

As per a notification issued by BMC, flat no 506, 509 and 510 of Brundaban Plaza, Unit 6 has been declared a containment zone to restrict public from entering into and going out.

“No public shall be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone shall not move out. BMC will supply essentials and ensure medical requirements for the inhabitants in the containment zones,” the notification read.
