Rourkela: A youth was arrested in Odisha`s Sundargarh district following a complaint by a girl that she had been raped by him after promising her to marry her, police said today.

The youth, a resident of Sadhubahal village under Lahunipada police, had been keeping physical relation with the girl of Kulkata village under Tikayatpally police limit for the past one year, the sources said.

However, when the girl became pregnant, he refused to marry her. The police arrested him yesterday on the basis of a complaint filed by her. The youth was produced before a court at Sundargarh today which remanded him to jail custody.
