Mumbai: Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal, who put up a scintillating finale at the Lakme Fashion Week here, says, Bollywood celebrities are not always needed to walk the ramp to help a collection get noticed.

"I have had lots of Bollywood celebrities walking the ramp including the biggest stars. I do it (have celebrities) if I feel the need do it. I do it when I feel that particular person (celebrity) will add to the collection rather than taking away the attention from it. So as far as a I am concerned, it is all about what is right for that moment," Bal told PTI.

The Delhi-based designer has done Amitabh Bachchan`s outfits for the game show `Kaun Banega Crorepati`. He also has clientele in the international market including celebs like Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell among others. Back home, the list includes the likes of Arjun Rampal, Kangana Ranuat, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina, filmmaker Karan Johar and others.

Setting the ambience for the grand finale, the show was held in an open area with live orchestra. Rohit, who displayed his Indo-Western collection in a novel way last night at a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai, garnered appreciation from various quarters, with audiences including celebrities giving him a standing ovation.

"We have had enough people saying we had want so and so people to be your show stopper but I said no to everyone, for reasons unknown. For me it does not make sense to have one just like that... it is more about fashion," Bal said.

Celebs who attended the finale include Rampal, wife Meher, Minisha Lamba, Rahut Dev, Anu Malik and Suzanne Roshan.

"Especially for the finale if you do without a showstopper and still you get a standing ovation it feels better.. you realize you don`t need a show stopper," Bal said.
