Woman killed for dowry

Nasreen (25), who was married to Gulshan of Kaila Bhatta village in Ghaziabad two years ago, was admitted to Safdarjang Hospital with 90 per cent burns on Tuesday morning, but could not be saved, they said.

According to the complaint filed by the victim`s family, the girl was regularly tortured by her husband and in-laws, who were demanding Rs two lakh cash and a car in dowry. She had told her parents about her miseries only two months back.

All the accused -- her husband, his father-in-law Sageer, mother-in-law Zarina and three others -- were absconding.
