New Delhi: A 52-year-old woman was arrested here for allegedly possessing fake currency with a face value of over Rs 34 lakh, police said today. Iran Fatima was apprehended yesterday from Gokalpuri a week after CBI arrested her son and his friend allegedly with fake currency, they said.

"We had a tip-off and we arrested Fatima. A decoy customer was sent. She agreed to sell fake currency. A raid was conducted and fake currency with a face value of Rs 34.34 lakh was recovered," a senior police official said. Fatima was trying to sell Rs 500 fake note for Rs 200 and the rate for Rs 1000 fake note was Rs 500, the official said.
