The well marked low pressure area over the northwest adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts has intensified into a depression, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.

Under the impact of the system, widespread rainfall has occurred in several districts of the State in the past 24 hours.
