The well marked low pressure area over Coastal Karnataka and adjoining east central Arabian sea moved westwards and weakened into a low-pressure area over east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian sea, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

As per the IMD, the system is likely to move westwards and become less marked during next 24 hours.

Moreover, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of December 7 and adjoining plains of Northwest India from December 8. It is likely to cause isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall/snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region during 7th-9th December.

The IMD further informed that dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during late night/early morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during 7th-9th December morning hours.

Weather Forecast For Odisha

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 05.12.2024): Light rain is  very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.12.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.12.2024): Light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.12.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 09.12.2024): Light to moderate rain very likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of South Interior Odisha, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh.
