The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted that thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur at several places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Ganjam district in the next 24 hours.
As per IMD, a cyclonic circulation lies over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and the neighbourhood. A low pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood around July 21, 2021.
Several parts of Odisha will experience rainfall, thunderstorm with lightning activity till July 22, 2021, IMD release stated.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 20.07.2021) Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Cuttack.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore,Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur.
Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.07.2021 upto 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2021)
