Odisha is likely to witness more rainfall activities as a fresh low pressure area is likely to be formed over Bay of Bengal around August 13, predicted India Meteorological department on Wednesday.

"A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal around 13 August 2022. It is likely to become more marked during subsequent 24 hours and move west-northwestwards thereafter," a bulletin issued by the local MeT office read.

Heavy rainfall warning for next five days is as follows:

Day-1: (Valid up to 0830 Hrs IST of 11.08.22): Orange warning (Be prepared)

Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.

Yellow warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri.

Day-2: (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 12.08.22)

Yellow warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda.

Day-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 12.08.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 13.08.22)

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Kendrapada and Puri.

Day-4: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 13.08.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 14.08.22)

Orange warning (Be prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

Yellow warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Angul, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Bolangir.

Day-5: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 14.08.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 15.08.22)
