While the people of Odisha continue to suffer due to the intense heat wave conditions, the temperature level is likely to fall by 2-3°C in the next two days- April 23 and 24- due to Nor'wester.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature may rise again by 2-3°C after the brief fall for two days at many places in Odisha.
"Due to prevailing mainly Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, the day temperature is very likely to be 40°C or above at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C over some districts of Odisha during next 24 hours," said IMD.
Meanwhile, Baripada became the hottest city in Odisha on Sunday as its temperature was recorded at 44.6 degrees Celsius. People in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also experienced sizzling heat as the mercury soared to 41.4 degrees in the two cities.
As per the IMD, the maximum temperature in 30 cities of Odisha crossed 40 degree Celsius.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur.
