A well-marked low-pressure area was over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal & north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts on Monday. The associated cyclonic circulation extended up to 9.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression during the next 12 hours and cross the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts around the forenoon of 19th August 2025.
The monsoon trough now passes through Naliya, Jalgaon, Brahmapuri, Jagdalpur, the center of well well-marked low-pressure area over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal & north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts & thence east southeastward to east Central Bay of Bengal extending upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.
