With several parts of Odisha already reeling under flood-like conditions, fears of further inundation have intensified following further rain forecast. The Bhubaneswar Met Centre has predicted light to moderate rainfall across most areas of north and west Odisha on Sunday, heightened concerns in regions already waterlogged and vulnerable.
Yellow Warning
The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for 15 districts, forecasting rainfall accompanied by thunder. Gusty winds with speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour are also likely in these areas. This further raises concerns for people, especially in areas that are prone to water accumulation or infrastructure strain due to adverse weather.
Rough Sea Conditions Prompt Coastal Advisory
As sea conditions remain turbulent, fishermen have been strictly advised against venturing into deep waters. Authorities have warned of potential dangers from rough waves and strong winds along the coast, adding that safety precautions must be observed.
South Odisha May Also Receive Rain
In addition to the northern and western regions, the Met Centre also indicated the possibility of rainfall in southern Odisha. The forecast suggests a widespread rain pattern that may affect various parts of the state. With the monsoon still active and water level rising in rivers prone to flooding, officials are closely monitoring the situation to respond as required.
