Rainfall is expected to persist across Odisha for the next five days, according to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre. While most parts of the state are likely to witness heavy rain during this period, a few coastal districts are likely to remain dry.

Yellow Alert Issued For 22 Districts

The weather office issued a yellow warning for 22 districts on Friday. As per the forecast, heavy rainfall is likely over the western, southern, and northern regions of Odisha. However, rainfall is not anticipated in a few areas.

No Rain Expected In Key Coastal Regions

According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, eight coastal districts, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, and Bhadrak, may not experience rainfall. Apart from these, all other districts are expected to receive rain over the coming days.

Heavy Rain And Winds Predicted

Southern Odisha is likely to receive heavy showers on Saturday. The forecast also mentions surface winds with speeds ranging between 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. These conditions may affect areas already experiencing moderate rainfall.

Thunderstorms Expected

The Bhubaneswar Met Centre has further predicted the possibility of rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in isolated places across the state. These developments are being closely monitored as part of the extended weather outlook.
