Several parts of Odisha are witnessing a steep rise in the day (maximum temperature) for the past couple of days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted that there will be no large change in the maximum temperature during the next four to five days in several parts of the State.
The maximum temperature will be above normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and by around 2 degrees at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, the IMD said in its bulletin. The highest maximum temperature of 41.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Titilagarh on Sunday.
Despite the rise in the maximum temperature, the weather bureau has also predicted rain and thunderstorm activities in different parts of the State in the next couple of days.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj.
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.03.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.03.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.03.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.03.2022)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri and Koraput.
