The spell of continuous rainfall in Odisha is expected to take a break as the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted a decrease in rain activity across most parts of the state starting from Friday.
According to the forecast, only Sundargarh and Jharsuguda districts are under a yellow warning for isolated rain and thunderstorms. In the rest of the districts, the weather is likely to remain normal, with chances of light to moderate rainfall at a few places.
Since June 1, Odisha has recorded 107.3 mm of rainfall, which falls within the normal rainfall range during this period, the weather office informed.
Meanwhile, the recent low-pressure-induced showers over the past four days have helped replenish 42 per cent of the rain deficit. With rainfall activities likely to reduce, farming activity and normal life are expected to resume without major disruptions.
