The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for severe heat and sultry weather conditions in coastal districts of Odisha over the next three days.

The warning has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.

According to the Met office, hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail in several parts of these districts due to high temperature and atmospheric moisture levels. This could lead to significant discomfort, especially during the daytime.

The day temperature across Odisha is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next two days. However, no major change in the temperature trend is expected thereafter.

Meanwhile, there is also a possibility of thundershowers in some parts of the state during this period, the forecast added.

The Met department has advised residents, particularly in the affected districts, to take necessary precautions against heat-related health risks and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun
