There seems to be no respite from the grueling heatwave conditions in Odisha with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar regional centre on Thursday issuing Yellow Warning for as many as eight districts.
The districts for which the Yellow Warning has been sounded are Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Boudh, Jharsuguda & Kalahandi.
The weather office has advised the residents of these districts to refrain from venturing out of their houses between 11 am and 3 pm.
Yesterday, Titlagarh emerged as the hottest place in the State with the mercury climbing to an unbearable high of 45.2 degrees Celsius. While nine places in the State recorded temperature of 43 degrees Celsius or above on Wednesday, the mercury touched 40 degrees at 19 places.
The IMD has predicted that there will be no relief from the prevailing heatwave conditions in the next three days for the residents of Western Odisha.
