Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that interior parts of Odisha will experience more rainfall as the monsoon will remain normal in the State for the next five days.
Mild to moderate rain is expected to occur in coastal parts of the State during the period while 15 districts including some southern regions are likely to experience heavy downpour, said Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Director, HR Biswas.
Yellow warning has been issued for 15 districts- Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj, he added.
Some of the districts may witness rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning, Biswas said.
The weather department also predicted heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Sundergarh district.

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal - off south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast around July 11. The phenomenon will bring more rains to the State in the next week.
According to IMD, Odisha has received 224.4 mm rainfall which is 22 per cent (pc) less than the average between June 1 and July 7. Bhadrak has received maximum deficit of rain at 55 pc followed by 50 pc in Gajapati. Keonjhar and Jajpur saw 46 pc less rain during the period. As many as 15 districts have witnessed scanty rain during the period.
