The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted a rise in the minimum (night) temperatures by 2 to 3 degree Celsius over many parts of Northwest India till February 10.
As per IMD, there will be no significant change for subsequent 24 hours and the minimum temperature is likely to fall by 2 to 3°C thereafter till February 13. There will also be a rise in the minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees C over many parts of Central India till February 11 and thereafter, a drop of 2 to 4 degrees C.
“There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over the rest of the parts of north India during next 5 days,” said IMD.
Along with the western disturbances, an induced cyclonic circulation lies over central Pakistan & adjoining West Rajasthan. Under its influence, light to moderate to widespread rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm and lightning are very likely to occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh on February 9.
Isolated light rainfall is likely over north Punjab on February 9 and 10 and over north Haryana and Chandigarh on February 10. Strong Surface Wind (speed 20-30 kmph) is very likely over the plains of Northwest India during 11th-13th February, 2023.

IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar said that there will be no large change in Minimum temperature (Night temperature) over the districts of Odisha during next 4 to 5 days.
Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.02.2023): Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Dhenkanal.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.02.2023 up to 0830 hrs IST of 10.02.2023): Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khorda, Puri, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur.
