The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted a considerable drop in the minimum (night) temperature in Odisha in the coming days.

As per the latest weather bulletin, several parts of the State may experience cold conditions as the minimum temperature is likely to fall by three to five degree Celsius during the next two to three days. However, there will be no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

Apart from this, the IMD has also predicted thunderstorm and lightning in several parts of the State in the next 24 hours. Hailstorm is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Dhenkanal.

Weather forecast and warning:

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 05.02.2022) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha, at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khordha and Puri.

Hailstorm is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Dhenkanal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs ISTof 05.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 06.02.2022)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 07.02.2022)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.
