The low pressure area over south Odisha and neighbourhood now lies over south Chhattisgarh adjoining Vidarbha, informed the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday.

A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around July 19, 2024. As per IMD, several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities till July 21, 2024. A yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been issued for some districts.

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Puri, Nayagarh, Khordha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack.
