The low pressure area over north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal has become less marked. However, the associated upper air cyclonic circulation has merged with an east-west trough that runs from the cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan to Bangladesh across East Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, north Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.
The IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts for thunderstorms and heavy to very heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha in coming days.
