Low pressure update: IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in some Odisha districts

A low-pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal, likely to affect parts of Odisha with heavy rainfall. The IMD has issued a yellow warning for nine districts, advising fishermen against venturing into the sea.

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, a Low-Pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal off the north Odisha coast. It is likely to move north-westwards during the next two days, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

Several parts of Odisha are experiencing enhanced rainfall activities under its impact. There are also reports of heavy rainfall in some districts of the state as well.
