Low Pressure Update
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy rain under the influence of a low pressure system which is likely to form over south Andaman sea and neighbourhood around May 6.
As per IMD, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on May 5. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely on May 6, 2022.
Squally wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) is likely to prevail over South Andaman Sea and adjoining north Andaman Sea and East-central Bay of Bengal on May 4 and 5.
The fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea in these areas as squally wind (speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea adjoining East-central & Southeast Bay of Bengal on May 6.
In a tweet, IMD said there has been abatement of heatwave conditions over most parts of the country today. However, thunderstorm/ gusty winds are likely to occur at several parts of Northwest India till May 4. Similarly, thunderstorm activities are likely over East India and south Peninsular India till May 6 and over Northeast India till May 3, 2022.
