Low pressure likely in December, predicts IMD; Odisha shivers in cold conditions

IMD predicts formation of another low pressure system

There is possibility of formation of a low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea around middle of the second week in December, said India Meteorological Department (IMD).

As per IMD’s extended rainfall outlook for week two (December 1 to December 7, 2022), there is possibility of intensification of the system and northwest movement thereafter. The weather agency further said in its forecast that light to moderate rainfall activity is likely over southeast peninsular India due to easterly wave. The overall rainfall activity is likely to be below normal over the country during the week.
