As predicted, a low pressure area has formed over Eastcentral Arabian Sea under the influence of yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that a cyclonic circulation also lies over Comorin area in lower tropospheric levels.
Under the influence of both the systems, light to moderate and fairly widespread rainfall is very likely over south Peninsular India and light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra is likely during next three days.
As per IMD, isolated heavy rainfall is also very likely over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka, south Konkan, Goa and south Madhya Maharashtra on November 8 and over Kerala and Tamil Nadu on November 8 and 9. Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over south Kerala and south Tamil Nadu today.
The IMD also informed that the western disturbance is likely to cause isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall/snowfall over Western Himalayan Region till November 10 and isolated light rainfall over adjoining plains on November 9 and November 10, 2023.
