A fresh low-pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, near the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre’s weekly outlook suggests that another weather system may form over the Bay of Bengal around September 20. This could develop into either another low-pressure area or a cyclonic circulation.

According to the forecast, the low-pressure system is expected to intensify further and move in a west-northwest direction. Over the next 48 hours, it is likely to shift towards adjoining north Andhra Pradesh and south Chhattisgarh regions.

Under its influence, several parts of Odisha are expected to experience rainfall over the next two days. Weather officials have advised people to remain alert, particularly in coastal and southern districts.
