Low pressure forms and likely to intensify into cyclonic storm: IMD

As per IMD, the low pressure area is likely to move west-northwest and concentrate into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal by December 6 evening.

Low Pressure to intensify into cyclonic storm

As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low-pressure area has formed over the south Andaman Sea on Monday. The low pressure area has formed under the influence of cyclonic circulation over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining equatorial Indian ocean Strait of Malacca.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels.
