Low pressure becomes less marked; thunderstorms, heavy rain alert for Odisha districts for 48 hours

A change in weather conditions is likely as the intensity of rainfall is expected to reduce in several parts of the country, including Odisha owing to the withdrawal of monsoon.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that the low-pressure area over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts moved west-northwest-wards and has become less marked. However, the associated cyclonic circulation now lies over south Chhattisgarh and the neighbourhood.

As per the IMD, the line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon continues to pass through Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar and Junagarh.
