Intense heatwave and humidity to continue till May 2 in Odisha: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports persistent hot and humid weather in Odisha until May 2, 2024. Despite thunderstorms, temperatures remain high with some districts experiencing severe heatwaves, reaching up to 45 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday informed that there is no possibility of any change in the hot and humid conditions that have been prevailing in Odisha till May 2, 2024. Though some districts in the state are experiencing thunderstorm activities, it has not helped in the reduction of maximum day temperature.

By 8:30 am, Angul district on Sunday recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degrees C, followed by 35.5 in Bhawanipatna and 35.4 degrees in Talcher. The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also recorded maximum temperatures of 33.2 and 33.4 degrees by 8:30 am today.
