IMD predicts very heavy rainfall in 6 Odisha districts; check latest weather updates

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in six Odisha districts. Rainfall between 7 to 20 cm is expected in Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, and Sambalpur on August 1, 2024.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued a yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall for several Odisha districts.

As per the IMD forecast, 7 to 20 cm rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur and Sambalpur on August 1, 2024.

“The cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and neighbourhood now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood. The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh has become less marked,” said IMD.

The IMD informed that several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities till August 4.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Jagatsinghpur.

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) isvery likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh.
