Even as the conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and some more parts of Maharashtra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rain and thunderstorm activities in several parts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.

At present, several parts of Odisha are experiencing a rise in maximum temperature.

As per IMD, the low pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards and lay as a well-marked low pressure area over the central part of the south Bay of Bengal.

The system is likely to intensify into a depression and continue to move west-northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next two days.
