IMD predicts rain, thunderstorms with lightning in Odisha districts

Yesterday’s depression over Jharkhand and adjoining north Chhattisgarh has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area and lay over the central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and the neighbourhood, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

As per IMD, it is likely to weaken into a low-pressure area over the same region during the next 24 hours.

The IMD has predicted that several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rain and thunderstorms with lightning activities in the coming days

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.09.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.09.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.09.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
