The cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea and Kerala coast now lies over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area.
Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to develop over southeast and adjoining eastcentral Arabian sea during next 48 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
As per IMD, the system is likely to move further west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over central Arabian sea around October 21, 2023.
The IMD further informed that the conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from remaining parts of Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, entire Northeast India, some more parts of Andhra Pradesh, remaining parts of Telangana, some more parts of North & Central Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours.

Northwest India: Light to moderate rainfall at many places accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places very likely over the entire region on 16th and 17th October and reduction thereafter.
South India: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with isolated heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe on 16th & 17th October.
East India: Light to moderate rainfall at many places with isolated heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm
and lightning very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 17th & 18th October.
