The maximum temperature was markedly above normal (5°C or more) at a few places over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa and at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
As per IMD, widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely over the Western Himalayan region during February 26-28 and decrease in intensity thereafter.
Similarly, scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during 26th February-1st March.

No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Northwest India during next 24 hours and gradual fall
by 3-5°C thereafter.
No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Konkan & Goa during next 24 hours and gradual fall by
2°C thereafter.
Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3℃ likely over Central India & Interior Maharashtra during next 4 days.
No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Gujarat state during next 2 days and gradual rise by 2-3°C thereafter.
No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over East India during next 2 days and gradual rise by 2-3°C thereafter.
No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of India during next 4-5 days.
Heat Wave and Hot & Humid weather warnings:
Heat wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets over Konkan & Goa on 26th February.
Hot and humid weather very likely to prevail over Gujarat State on 26th & 27th; Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka during 26th -28th February.
