The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted rain and thunderstorm activities in Odisha during the next couple of days.
Apart from thunderstorm activities, heavy rainfall is likely to occur in several parts of the State from June 29, 2022. A yellow warning has also been issued for several districts.
“The eastwest trough now runs from above cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan and neighbourhood to Westcentral Bay of Bengal across southeast Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and south Odisha,” said IMD.

Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput,Nabarangpur ,Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur ,Bhadrak.
Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.06.2022)
Yellow warning (be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi ,Kandhamal ,Ganjam, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur ,Angul, Deogarh, Jharsuguda ,Sundargarh, Bargarh.
Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.06.2022)
Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Yellow warning (be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal.
