The upper air cyclonic circulation over northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood persists and a low-pressure area is likely to form over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood during the next 24 hours, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per IMD , several parts of Odisha are likely to continue to experience rainfall activities in the coming days. 

The IMD has also issued orange warning for several districts for heavy to very heavy rainfall and yellow warning for heavy rainfall till July 9, 2025.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Angul, Denkhanal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada.

Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur.
