IMD predicts fresh spell of heavy rainfall over east India from September 29

The IMD further informed that conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of northwest and adjoining western India during the next 2-3 days.

IMD issues heavy rainfall alert

A fresh spell of heavy rainfall is likely to hit East India from September 29, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around September 29. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over north Andaman Sea & adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards with possibility of gradual intensification.
