The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday informed that the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2 -3°C during next two days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

Moreover, there is possibility of thunderstorm-related rainfall activities which might provide some respite to people from the scorching heat wave conditions in some districts of Odisha.

A yellow warning for thunderstorm as well as hot and humid conditions has been issued by the IMD today.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2025)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is  very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam.

Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati ,Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2025)

Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Ganjam.

Hot and Humid Conditions very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.05.2025)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nuapada, Nabarangapur.

Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal.
