IMD issues red warning for severe heatwave in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red warning for a severe heatwave in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, with temperatures soaring above 43 degrees Celsius. The alert also covers other parts of Odisha.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued a 'red warning' for severe heatwave in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

Apart from the twin cities, the IMD has also issued severe heatwave warning for several other parts of the state today.

It is pertinent to mention here that mercury had crossed 43 degree mark in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Saturday. While Bhubaneswar sizzled at 44.6 degrees, Cuttack recorded highest maximum temperature of  43.4 degrees yesterday.

As per latest IMD data, Bhubaneswar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees by 11:30 am today.

Apart from Bhubaneswar, Balasore recorded maximum temperature of 40.7 while Chandbali and Keonjhar recorded 40.2 and 40 degrees C respectively.
