People across Odisha are experiencing discomforting weather conditions for the past couple of weeks. Such a trend is likely to continue for some more days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.
As per the IMD, there will be no large change in the maximum temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days.
“The maximum temperature is likely to be 42 degrees Celsius or more at one or two places during the next two days and during the subsequent three days at a few places over some districts of interior Odisha (Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Nuapada)” said IMD.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, and Dhenkanal & at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nuapada.
Orange Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning, squall and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 50-60 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapada.
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Puri, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Boudh.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.05.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, and Balasore.
